Hi there!
Never underestimate a lone mismatched sock or a designer with a vision. Over the past 30 years, Terry Dewald-Fredrick has transformed thousands of pounds of unwanted household textiles into one-of-a-kind rugs.
A Midwest farm girl at heart, Terry leaves nothing to waste. She believes home decor should be both beautiful and functional which is why all of her rugs are reversible and washable and eco friendly.
Early in the morning and late at night, Terry is in her studio weaving beautiful rugs fit for life and adventure!
Nothin’ but rags
Raggity Rugs really are nothin’ but rags! Our rag rugs are woven with upcycled clothes, curtains, towels, and rags worn out beyond repair. We source materials from thrift stores, friends, and Terry’s own home.
Instead of tossing old textiles into the trash where they’ll be transported to the dump and landfill, Terry preps these fabrics for the loom to create these eco- friendly rugs.
The United States produces 25 billion pounds of textiles each year. More than 85% of this, or 70 pounds per person, is sent to landfills annually. Raggity Rug Designs is a part of the solution.
Each rag rug repurposes 5+ pounds of textiles. With more than 1500 sales, Raggity Rug Design has upcycled 10,000 pounds of fabric… and counting.
